RAMAKRISHNA MAA SARADA SEVA TRUST

Inaugurating a New Vision

WB Trust Deed Reg. No. IV-1903-02735/2019

NANDAKUMARPUR is a small hamlet in South 24 Parganas (West Bengal) located about 80 km from Kolkata and 7 km from the town of Raidighi. It is in close proximity to the Sundarbans, an area of mangrove forests, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The people of this area are poor even as they are simple, hardworking, and God-fearing. Life is a constant struggle against the elements of nature as a large number of rivers, canals, and streams that crisscross the region tend to overflow their banks in the monsoon season. Coupled with this, thunderstorms and devastating cyclones arising in the Bay of Bengal regularly lash this coastal area ravaging the land and destroying homes, livestock, humans, and wildlife. The major cyclones that have recently hit this area are Ayela, Phani, Bulbul and Amphan in May, 2020 – the most destructive of them all.

Keeping in mind the needs of the financially-challenged people of the area, a group of well-wishers have come together to create the “Ramakrishna Maa Sarada Seva Trust” with the aim to look after the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of communities living in the area and develop the region, economically and environmentally.

The TRUST campus is currently spread over 2 acres of land on a riverfront with two waterbodies and a profusion of greenery within its precincts. The following initiatives are envisaged :
